{"id":2420,"date":"2014-03-29T07:25:12","date_gmt":"2014-03-29T14:25:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/greg.porter.name\/wordpress\/?p=2420"},"modified":"2014-04-27T07:26:24","modified_gmt":"2014-04-27T14:26:24","slug":"itil-foundations-class-march-26-28-2014","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/greg.porter.name\/wordpress\/?p=2420","title":{"rendered":"ITIL Foundations Class &#8211; March 26-28, 2014"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our organization at SJSU is implementing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.itil-officialsite.com\/AboutITIL\/WhatisITIL.aspx\">IT service management based upon ITIL<\/a>. \u00a0To support this, I recently took a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalknowledge.com\/training\/course.asp?pageid=9&amp;courseid=10472&amp;catid=437&amp;country=United+States\">ITIL Foundation class from Global Knowledge<\/a> on site at SJSU from March 26-28, 2014&#8230;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.itil-officialsite.com\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-2418\" title=\"itil logo\" src=\"https:\/\/greg.porter.name\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/itil-logo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"335\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/greg.porter.name\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/itil-logo.jpg 335w, https:\/\/greg.porter.name\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/itil-logo-300x134.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 335px) 100vw, 335px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>We arranged for this class with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalknowledge.com\">Global Knowledge<\/a>. \u00a0 We did this on site at SJSU. \u00a0The instructor we learned from was <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TheITILGuru\">Thomas &#8220;Bart&#8221; Barthold<\/a>. \u00a0Bart has many years of IT service management and ITIL implementation experience.<\/p>\n<p>The Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) is a globally recognized collection of\u00a0best practices for information technology (IT) service management. The United Kingdom&#8217;s Central Computer and Telecommunications Agency (CCTA) created ITIL in response to growing dependence on information technology for meeting business needs and goals.\u00a0ITIL\u00a0provides businesses with a customizable framework of best practices to achieve quality service and overcome difficulties associated with the growth of IT systems.<\/p>\n<p>ITIL is organized into &#8220;sets&#8221; of books which are defined by related functions: service strategy, service design, managerial, service transition, service operation and continual service improvement. software.
